Brooklyn-based emerging artist Wildcat Ebony Brown, began her career as a professional model in her early 20’s. Despite ample success in the beauty and entertainment industry, Ebony has found a new home for her talents, passions, and uninhibited creativity as an artist and clothing designer.
Her journey from subject to architect has led to paintings, installations, and a developing clothing line. Grounded in her aptitude for color harmony, her work is vibrant and exhilarating. Her designs focus on a sophisticated, timeless silhouette, as well as, the comfort and confidence experienced by those wearing them.
Moments of deep self reflection, while quarantined alone during the 2020 pandemic, guided her on an unexpected journey of self discovery. Through acts of radical self love and liberation, she embraced the power of her true voice and awakened to her purpose as an artist, activist, feminist, and community organizer. This new sense of awareness elevated and influenced her intentions and sensibilities. Thus allowing her to envision a brand which uplifts, inspires and encourages consumers to unapologetically embrace their authenticity and individuality.
While possessing a strong aesthetic, she continues to evolve, learning about the importance of using environmentally sustainable fabrics and practices. Her immediate goals include exploring natural and recycled fibers, utilizing dead-stock and repurposing existing garments and textiles, as she begins fabricating her unique collection. Described as “a cultural provocateur” by renowned artist, Hank Willis Thomas and considered a “muse” by many of her peers, she continues to set trends, influence and inspire the world around her.
